This will be the first OSO symposium and will initiate the tradition of gathering members involved in all levels of the value chain, from data providers to users, of operational satellite oceanographic data, products and applications. The themes to be addressed in this first symposium are 1) redefining the operational paradigm, 2) linking data providers to information providers, 3) helping users find the information they need, and 4) facilitating the end-to-end value chain.
During the workshop we will foster discussions of: user cases, what makes an operational application successful, where and how satellite service are to be improved. The workshop will have presentations from many international actors and stakeholders, providing unique opportunity for users and data providers to engage with others in international operational satellite oceanography community.
Attendees will also have a training opportunity on June 17, focusing on novel satellite data discovery and access capabilities.
Participation in the OSO Symposium is open to all individuals interested in or working in the fields of geoscience and remote sensing. Abstracts submitted by the deadline will be considered for program placement under the standard peer review process. The Programme Committee will organize all accepted submissions into either oral interactive poster sessions based upon their potential contribution to the symposium and the composition of high-quality sessions.
